Role Overview
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll diagnose, service, and repair light commercial and agricultural vehicles. Working from our Ivybridge workshop and onsite at customer locations, you’ll ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems
- Service commercial vans, pick‑ups, tractors, and smaller agricultural machinery
- Use diagnostic tools and measure against manufacturer’s specifications
- Replace parts: filters, tyres, brakes, belts, hoses, etc.
- Perform routine servicing: oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication
- Keep clear, accurate records of all work carried out
- Maintain workshop equipment and promote a clean, safe work environment
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to support plumbing/heating specialist vehicles
Essential Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vehicle servicing and maintenance (commercial/agricultural preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting abilities

- Proficient with diagnostic tools, workshop software, and hand/air tools
- Full UK driving licence, clean record
- Self-motivated, organised, and customer-focused
- Good communication and collaboration skills
